I got this with a fair SA dagger from the same family. The "STORY" is that this rifle has been in this family's hands many generations??
I got both rifles from the same folks.
1st is a 1856 TOWER and the other a 1870 Enfield.
The Tower is pretty neat since it looks like it has unit marks. I dont know much about the civil war but I read that the south bought Tower rifle before and during the war??
THis one has STAMPS all over it and stamped into the wood is:
15 NI 112 41 D 10
What the heck does that all mean??
Thanks

Could 15 N.I. stand for 15th Battalion Native Infantry, as in the Indian Army?
