From what I have read only the pre 1938 RLB logo was put on dress bayonets. The following link has a listing for the new style logo as seen in the picture below. Has anyone seen a post 1938 that was real?

This piece ended at $356, either a very cheap original or an expensive tarted up KS98. The seller mentioned that the grip emblem was very tight to the grip & that he saw no evidence of pins. I've seen a number of RLB bayonets & I was skeptical of all of them for different reasons. Never seen one with this 2nd model emblem though.

Thanks for the reply Billy, I was going by George T Wheeler's book and he said there were very few of the first RLB logo manufactured and none of the 38 and later version. Without an X-ray from the dentist on the handle I wouldn't have purchased this bayo for more than $60.

I agree completely, the 2nd model emblem really threw me. Without some sort of proof to the contrary, I had to presume it was postwar & had no more value than the frog & scabbard. For me anyway.
