Picked this up with several German WW2 & Italian items from a vets relative. Came from Anzio area of Italy. Is it an SS Police Cap? Thanks, CHUCK

It appears to be as police overseas cap, but the picture contrast is lacking. Is the cloth green or black? Can't make out any piping? Would appear to be an overseas cap for the Feuerwehr. All police/fire departments were controlled by an SS Hauptamt (HA ORPO), so I guess you could say it is an SS Police Overseas Cap. But that is a bit of embellishment.

Could it possibly be an SS-Police Division cap?

As Joe says, it is a Fire Department cap if it is black. The SS-Pol Div wore green and not black uniforms.

Isn't that an Italian forage cap George? Not German. With a white on blue police cap eagle. A wonder.

It certainly looks Italian from these daylight pictures. Perhaps Italian police for wear with the blue uniform? Perhaps Italian made for FW use?
