Thought i'd share.
Bought this from a fellow colletor recently at a reasonable price. Not sure if he's a member here or not.
I didn't have any 1st patterns in my collection, just 2nd patterns, which we know are not associated with the DAK, or the campaigns in North Africa.
Anyway, here's the piece. Rates excellent. Likely an unissued example and brough back or shipped from remaining stocks after the war. However, it's clear the piece has been worn at some point. Why or what I have no idea. Could have been recycled in the circulation I suppose...or as easily, someones kid could have run around and played AK in their yard.
Until now, I havn't found a decent conditioned 1st pattern which was correct, and in decent enough shape. Unissued is fine for my needs as it relates to a 1st pattern.
