Never seen or heard of an SS dagger with a VA mark inside the crossguard.

You never know, but it is an unknown marking for SS dagger. There are repro guards being made in Europe and possibly elsewhere. The ones I have seen are unmarked and most are advertised as repro's. Photos of the guards posted here would help.
