An interested party contacted me about a bayonet he could buy. Picture he sent is the best he had, looks hand painted to me. Any thoughts?:

Hi, I saw you listed a picture of several HJ daggers on the above thread. By the way, Awesome collection! The dagger on the far right in the picture has a Red shield with white stripe down the middle with Swaztika in the middle. I would appreciate if you could tell me exactly what that shield represents as I have just picked up a 98K dress bayonet with black metal scabbard, bright blade, black chekered grips, and that emblem at the middle part of the black scabbard just below the bottom of the leather frog. The Vet that brought this home said it came from a LW warehouse that they over-ran as it was burning. A lot of the soldiers ran in and liberated what items they could. There were racks of these bayonets lined up in a long row and he was able to pick one up. Any info on the emblem would be greatly appreciated. I could email a pic or 2 but it's the very same emblem as on your HJ. Thank you in advance, Norm
