This is the mark I found for an over the shoulder makers mark for 1942, not exactly the same, that's why I asked. Can anyone provide me a picture of the same exact mark as mine ? Thanks, Harry

Thanks steven for posting, I just wanted to be sure I wasn't ripped off, with all the fakes. The gentleman I bought the bayonet from, gave me a life time guarantee, so I wasn't to worried, just wanted to make sure. Harry

Just thought I would let you folks know, I was able to find a mint portapee and brown frog, so I'm good to go. Not sure on how to attach the portapee, but I figure out something.

Guys:
I love those late war over shoulder trade marks.
I don't believe that I have seen that mark before on either a police bayo like greerhw's or a Pioniere style like the one you have, SteveC.
Just tells me that there is more stuff out there for me to hope to find.
John

Harry,
what John is saying I think. Is that TM is difficult to find sometimes. and the rarer the item you find it on the better or less seen on police type bayo and such.

Welcome Harry. even the advanced collectors are still learning new things so if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask,we all had to start somewhere. i would advise you to buy some books on the subject its a great way of learning more. Sean

I don't know how many of you collect other items, but I started with rural police items, I found one of the best police lugers in mint condition, along with a mint police holster, then a police enlisted man's belt, if anyone is interested, I will post some pictures. So far everything I have is police items, the only part was the bayonet is rural, every thing else is municipal.
Regards, Harry

I believe this is a Nazi produced Police bayo (as opposed to the majority Weimar cut down upgrade pieces). You can tell by the distance from the end of the fuller to the blade tip. This is also a late Eickhorn makers mark...so it is uncommon to find such a piece. This is the first time I have seen this mark on a police bayo. Grats. Oh and if you want to sell gimme a shout...

The fact that this is rare, is really not important, just that the bayonet is in mint condition, I'm not a purists collector of bayonets, just the best example I can find. Do you have one in as good of condition with a different makers mark ?

Maker mark shot, sorry for the blur. Not a common mark to find on a police bayonet but they are out there. I did love that despite this piece being made in 1942 or thereabouts, they still used a nice set of stag grip plates & not the ersatz ones.

Thanks John,
Here's a shot of the hilt, seems it's not working on the previous picture. Great stag on this one, I wonder how much after this one was made that they resorted to ersatz stuff. You can still see the prongs from where the original grip emblem once was.

Billy, perhaps you can shoot a closeup of how the knot is attached to the bayonet for our new collector friend!

Kind of late, but who made the case for you? A very original design.

I don't think the bayonet was made in 1942. According to orders published 11.6.41, after existing supplies of police bayonets at the main armory in Berlin were exhausted, no more police bayonets (eagle head/horn grips/leather scabbard) would be supplied for requests. Instead, S.84/98s were to be provided.
