Tom Johnson still has it offered on his website: "1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger Scabbard Leather. Blue leather, enough to cover one 1st model Luftwaffe dagger. $65." http://www.johnsonreferenceboo...abbscrews/index.htmlAlso, Tom Wittmann offers this service (he probably doesn't do it himself...): "Scabbard Recovering is available for 1st Model Luftwaffe, Luftwaffe swords, RLB Officer Daggers, Glider Pilot and Hitler Youth Leader Daggers." http://www.wwiidaggers.com/RESTO.htmSo, he must have a source for it.

as some may recall, i re-covered a 1st luft about 2 years ago. i eventually sourced the leather by looking at bookbinding suppliers` websites. i got enough leather to cover about 5 scabbards for around £15, (about $22), including postage, from a tannery here in the uk. i`m sure there are similar suppliers in the states. just google "bookbinding supplies".
