I picked this up on an impulse, without knowing if they have been faked or not. It's magnetic. The reddish color is a build up of dust, not corrosion.

I've seen another Baden plate where the loops were made from flat stock. The owner said Baden were the only ones to use it.

It's quite vaulted. The 'D' on Vaterland looks to have honest wear from the chinstrap.

Thank you both. I missed a Baden EM helmet complete with cover about 15 years ago from a museum closing in Saskatchewan. A dealer/auctioneer friend told me it was going to be in his auction, then turned around and sold it to someone else, so I've been after one (or this part of one) since!
