I got this knife from a Ca. collection recently. From the forum discussion of about a year ago it is the "C" type Dutch youth knife that has alum rivets, no comma in the motto, no stamped numbers on the crossguard. The unique thing is that the "C" type normally has no emblem in the ivory like grip. This one has the emblem added that is shown in the photos. My question is if anyone has seen anything with that emblem before?

Very interesting piece.

I have never seen this emblem on a knife, but it shows one of the German "runen" the nazis liked to use.

From the pictures that you posted, I see no problems with the piece, but I am not specialised in these.

I think we need Ron Weinand's experience here.

Best greetings,

Herman

I agree with Herman, the knife itself looks OK but I've also never seen such a grip emblem. I'd love to see an x-ray of the grip to see how it's affixed.

YES but not for the youth movement which was a gull symbol. The actual HJ system was very small in Holland

Due to the crude cut edges around the badge I would think the badge is replaced.

The rune is similar to the German 'Pimpf' movement which was for boys in the youngest tier of the Hitler Jugend. 'Pimpf' also means 'little fart' in German!

I agree, it looks like a home made customization, the exact purpose is not apparent to me.
