Hello fellow collector friends :-) These are not my specialty at all. I should be a good one. Unmarked blade, tang markings, ebony grip, pot metal fittings?, nickel clip and painted scabbard. Any thoughts on this one?
Regards Henrik

Looks good to me. This tang marking is common with Ernst Erich Witte daggers-Kronech-it is thought that this lightly applied maker mark was cleaned away with time-not sure I subscribe to this view, but there it is. Paul

Nice clean dag. My questions on it would be why the overlap on the grip fitting and it looks like the x grd is nickel but the pommel is potmetal. Did they use potmetal on the early EMs? Brings up the question of was the grip switched to increase the value. Just my 2 cents

Thank you guys. The pommel and cross guard are both made of pot metal. Henrik

Did they use pot metal on the 1st version. Personally I think the grips been replaced, its fit isnt flush, Its a really nice piece though especially to have a plated potmetal crossguard in such beautiful condition. My 2 cents. T
