That blade is dedication from Dickie Blaock who was one of the original singers with the 50's doo wop group Dion and the Belmonts.
Seriously I have no idea but the inscription is really nice and deep.

What about the grip eagle, it does not seem to have a group mark and it is a early Eick.. Christmas SA dagger with early dedication perhaps?
A good start would be getting someone to translate it, but looks like it was acid etched.

The dedication does look a lot deeper than the makers mark though??

Probably these one of a kind or where they only made a few possibly applied the template after the blade was done. This may account for the difference in the depth of the inscription being different. That's the way the SS Furth Sports Daggers were.

Not a "Christmas Dagger" with that trademark.

Hi again, our fellow collector Ralf S. suggested me that dedication goes like that:
"In herzlicher Kameradschaft Rudolf Brhin"
But who was RUDOLF BRHIN !?!?!?!?!

Go to "Edged Weaponary of the Third Reich" by John Angolia, page 189, and you will see an example "similar" to this one with that name. He states that these were reproductions that came around in about 1964. Charlie

I see the spine looks a little soft on the inscription side..was this originally a Rohm dedication dagger that was period ground and polished (as many Eicks that were returned to the factory were..), and the inscription added later in the 60's?

Hi I guess You are right. Dagger is 100% original. I have received detailed pictures od the crossguards and tang (I will put them later). Nickel silver crossguards are marked inside H.E and the tang is marked with A in a circle and number 13 or 15 as I remember. 100% legit dagger. The only fake item is the inscription :-(. Sad but true....

Don't know if this is the same vintage, but these copies surface from time to time. This particular one appeared to be a period dagger with this bogus inscription added, destroying an otherwise good blade. There are several signatures, usually semi illegible to further confuse. Apparently these are quite old, in fact Fred Stephens shows one in Reproduction? Recognition! 1.

O.K. 2 cents from me. I know where this dagger was offered (not very trustworthy auction site in general, but some good items appear from time to time, very rare though). 1. THE BOOK by Angolia: what we see on p.189 is a picture of a reproduction from ca.1964, but "transi" Eickhorn blade has been "decorated" there. 2. Here (this topic, I mean) the dagger itself is the good ol' Eickhorn GR with dedication added (in my opinion) by someone inspired by the photo in THE BOOK mentioned above. 3. The inscription is supposed to say "In herzlicher Kameradschaft Rudolf B...". Well, the letter K and the letter B look different in Sutterlin, script that used to be popular in good old days of Germany. 4. If the fakers dare to fake all kinds of inscriptions that can be compared with known originals (Röhm), why wouldn't they take the opportunity to put some strange looking letters noone can decypher and that can't be compared with anything original (except for the one in Angolia )? Especially when 90% of "the target" (people who buy on that auction) has NO CLUE about III Reich edged weaponry
