I'm sure that many here will have known John Telesmanich, aka John T, from www.germanwarbooty & www.originalgermanmilitaria.com. Early last year he announced on his site that due to illness he would no longer be taking orders.

I was recently saddened to hear that John passed away last October. John had a talent for sniffing out rare pieces & over the years I was lucky enough to obtain some beautiful & rare items from him.

John Telesmanich

May 10, 1967 — October 4, 2024

White Plains, NY

John Telesmanich, 57, passed away in his home in White Plains, NY on Friday, October 4, 2024 after a valiant, nearly 4-year battle with cancer.

John was born on May 10, 1967 in Croatia, in what, at that time, was known as Yugoslavia. Early in his life, he moved to the United States. A long-time resident of White Plains, NY, John graduated from White Plains High School, attended Pace University, and earned his business certificate from Westchester Business Institute (name changed to The College of Westchester). John turned his educational pursuits and passion for history into his own successful antique business. He was held in high regard by his business associates and fellow collectors, often being sought as an authority on the authenticity of historical artifacts. In his personal life, John always made sure to take care of those around him. John loved animals, especially the several dogs and cats he has had across the years. His family will remember John as a man who was one of a kind and as a man with his own special sense of humor. And, when you were with him, he always would ensure you were well-fed…or at least enjoyed some chocolate.

John is survived by his mother Cathy, siblings Vanessa [Justin] and Gaetano [Gabriela], nieces Zoe, Allegra, and Celine, and several beloved aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his father Vincent and step-father Mario.

My most sincere condolence to all of his friends and family. I didn't know him personally but I was aware of both his name and of his business. RIP Ryan
