These rings I got in their boxes. Some bring backs from family,, some I bought years ago..

Any member have some of their rings in what they think is in its original box? Please post them here as we'd all love to see them! Come on guys, post away...

Some real beauties there, Gaspare. Is that a Polizei ring on the left in the second photo?

The only boxed ring I have is my Kirkenes. I don't know if this is the original box but it looks pretty old and it is the box the ring came in. Still a favourite of mine.

Here's a FJ ring by Frey which remained well conserved in its box.

Excellent all!!

Well, they are all old that's for sure. I leave 'em as I get 'em. So if they came in a box that's where they stay.

Your Kirkenes certainly looks correct. Same with yours Ric, that looks like the original box for sure.

The famous ring hoard, they were from a manufacturer / wholesaler. Once the retail shop got them that tag came off and they went into the retailer's box!!

Benten!! , good to see you here again.. A happy new year to you!.

- Yes .. so this is the 'Boxed' topic... Your WW boxed skull is fantastic... It is a rare pattern without the WW on their foreheads, and,, even rarer with the WW on it! Great to see,, I had that pattern but in a different box...

Again, I had a email asking why are the 'tagged' skulls not in boxes?

Well, a for instance could be, the tagged rings were going to be sent to a retailer.. He would then send a few different patterns to various stores for whomever to purchase... The first thing done was the tag was cut / yanked off. It then would get a fast visual inspection and occasionally,, sometimes get and additional stamp in the band!. Maybe a silver content if there wasn't in there. Or the inspector's initials, or a mini store logo I

I would also get the question, why on the forehead?

OK part 2... on the forehead because there isn't any room for it anywhere else on the ring!!

They are all over the site.. Some years ago I uncovered a hoard. It was in Germany and Odal was instrumental in 'us' getting them.... They were available to us,,but neither of us had the money to get that amount of rings,,,SO I found a couple of investors. They got the majority of the haul. Odal and I got like 10 perfect rings each as we got first pick!!

- A shot of Stephen‘s, and 2 of mine I used to own:

Mikee, the patterns seen here and elsewhere I'd say more than half had the Ln in band.. There were many other patterns just not in duplicates and those were mainly the ones Odal and I picked out for ourselves. There was other jewelry, ,stic pins, couple necklaces, few cufflink pairs, the investors got most of those. I had a pair of cufflinks they were unmarked. The Skull & Snakes pattern seen here [with or without gem eyes ] were the most prevalent of the lot,,,and there were many.........

Label Pliers, This is one of a few types.

Labels come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors for many different items as we see. Can be bought by the thousands printed and not printed.

Display case, one of so many. Those skull rings with labels at least one of them at a time were meant to be displayed IMO.

Just for completeness, we had an earlier thread on the topic of ring boxes. There is a little overlap but it's worth it. Here's a link:
