Love that blue DLV. The ring with the two-engine bomber is cool too. Looks like a 'Wir Fahren Gegen Engelland' ring. I hadn't seen that pattern before.

thank you,, I miss them very much!

That band Gegen is a rare pattern.. Period adverts exist for it,, and even rarer patterns of Gegen!

- Here we go..

There were a few different patterns of these 'Gegen' rings.. Some were made,,some were not....

After the Battle of Britan was over these were probably quietly put away and sales dropped off.

Here's a beauty of a Luft ring. There were a series of these made. Gilt messing, with a black glass cartouche, and Luft emblem on it.

Haven't seen adverts for them. This was mine, and had 2 others and have 'in wear' photos of them. Really beautiful rings when in very good condition with full gilt etc.

Here were most of my Luft collection,,and, the period wood carved box I kept them in.

Please members. Even if you have the same patterns it's always good to see them in various conditions so please post what you have.

G,

The box is interesting, would like to see more pictures when you get time with the hinges and lock. Is it dated?

Here are a couple of my Wir fahren gegen Engelland rings. The one on the left is good, the one on the right is a copy. These rings were, to my knowledge, made of base alloy with a silver coloured wash, not silver like the one on the right. Still a cool ring though.

And here is another 'Gegen Engelland' ring ad. It shows three aircraft flying above a U-boat. An actual ring like this is shown above in Gaspare's photo (second row, third on the right). See also Gaspare's photo, rows 3 and 4, first rings on the left. Below is an ad for the same pattern.

- Collector,,, I know Antonio for some years now. We 've had many a discussion about Honor rings and PP rings, jewelry, etc. When I decided to retire from collecting a couple years ago collecting friends and some members from here had asked me about specific rings they wanted to reserve when I was ready to move them..

I had that box for many years and kept my loose Luft rings in it.. So cheers to whoever owns it now and hope they enjoy for as many years as I did... In the future I'll list some rings here and for sale section when its time..

Collector ,or any of you members, if you have any Luft rings we'd love to see them. Or, any of your pieces as you can always start another topic.

G,
I wish you had more pictures of the hardware, but from what I can see it looks pretty good. Can you post Antonio's website. I still haven't read his book. I need to start.

Stephen,

as you may see by side pic, enamell stay in recess with eagle and crown protecting it, so if the ring is only slightly worn enamell remains almost intact.

Ric

P.S. glad you like it, as I do

Ric,, yes another stunner! True enough, that enamel is well below the design so it would have to be worn all the way down to get to the enamel... So somewhere there is probably an ad for them 'with enamel'!!
