Dutch,
That fellow "Not " only showed up that one time to register and dump on your topic. Maybe ignore him.

Could be just the wrong time of year for a answer. I have never seen that pin style before, but that means nothing. Stay firm Dutch, you will get a reply.

pin system is ok and a either a special order or jeweler done..
IF a fake,, could be a Floch. His WWII EKs were really nicely done and he made big on them.. Not sure on WW1s... I will check around too.

The rear definitely is unorthodox a system. I have seen some weird rears so that wouldn't bother me... I had stopped collecting them way before the Flochs came in to being..
Did a search ,,the only thing that is off is the date is very high compared to any other make..
Try a search on your computer ,,EK1 1914, etc. and do some comparisons... The Iron Cross has become a long time ago a specialty to itself in collecting. Let us know if you see anything weird........

The mark is only used on 1870 crosses and is from the maker Lois Lempke ( LL). This cross has no patina at all and the needle system is a fantacy systeem, does not excis,t as far as I know. Also the frame is 1914 off, looks like the frame used on new rounder KC fakes. The core could be real from Godet. You see that more often, that they use a real EK II core on fakes. EK II is relatively cheap to use on a fake EK I. Also makes it a bit more believable.

' Sorry my response took a little longer. I am indeed new and I don't really know how everything works yet. I've been collecting Iron Crosses for years and know a thing or two about them. Because I bought my first SA dagger, I became a member of this forum. I know there is a lot of knowledge here and would like to know more about the dagger.

Thanks, Dave, Ed, and Gaspare. I'll keep on doing my investigating. It is three piece constructed, Iron core. Nicely canceled seam. Trying to get the maker! Happy New Year to all.

That attachment system isn't fantasy... There are some that are very similar maybe not exact but close.. -
* So you are thinking its a put together... Dutch,, your going to,have to check / research each of the parts you mention to be sure.. Let us know how you make out....,G.
