I found and bought this on the popular auction site listed as "Vintage 1968 German Pewter Acorn Award Pitcher with Lid", Buy it now $29.95 & $15.00 S & H.
Note inscription: "Herrn Oblt. (Oberleutant) Ruedi, Fus. (Fusilier) KP. (Kompanie) III / 68, Die Offiziere Des Fus. (Fusilier) Bat. (Battlion) 68".
I believe this 9 inches tall, German pewter pitcher dates to about 1942 / 1943.
All comments are welcomed.

From "Armedconflicts.com":
"Füsilier-Regiment 68 (Musketeer Regiment 68)
Formed on 27.11.1942 in Brandenburg from Infanterie-Regiment 68 as a successor to the traditional Füsilier-Regiment Prinz Heinrich von Preußen Nr. 35 and is subordinate to the 23rd Infanterie-Division.
On 12.9.1943 the II. Bataillon disbanded, for which reason the III. Bataillon on 22.6.1943 is renamed II. Bataillon.
In March/March 1945, the regiment is entrusted with the positions of the I, II and IV Battalions (Bataillon), which originally belonged to Grenadier-Regiment 9, which received them from the 24th Panzer-Division detached in East Prussia."

The 1st German pewter pitcher shown arrived 20 Dec. 2024.
The seller made an error and shipped another similar pewter pitcher marked: "HPTM D. Ruedi, Zuget Hauptmann S Bat 4, 1979-1981" that arrived on 16 Dec. 2024.
The seller apologized and told me to keep the wrong pitcher and then shipped the correct pitcher.
The 1st pitcher shown is marked on the bottom with an "A, Angel, R" in an oval. This 1st pitcher shown is well made of heavy Pewter with no damage.
The similar pitcher with inscription: "HPTM D. Ruedi, Zuget Hauptmann S Bat 4, 1979-1981", is 9 3/4" tall, marked on the bottom with "feinzinn, 95 %" and is modern made with thinner pewter and has dents.
I believe that Hauptmann D. Ruedi, S Bat 4, may be the son or grandson of Oberleutant Ruedi, FUS. KP III / 68.
Can anyone tell me what is a "Zuget Hauptmann" and what 1979-1981 German unit "S Bat 4" could be?
PS thanks for the kind words, Mikee.
