a quickie guy as I'm on the run...
I posted this topic:
https://forum.germandaggers.com/ubb...p;Words=acorn&Search=true#Post360972Something I never do is play around with rings but this was postwar and...... The ring in the above topic is
not the ring that was in the box!
The ring really in the box was a really nice ring and I gave it to my son in law [he's Polish] to wear for a few years..
I got it a few years after the USSR broke up.. Really nice silver but only a very tiny mark a letter. The enamel is really good, burnished really good and overall, a real nice looker...
SO, at the MAX I met a collector who was into Polish items.. He bought a couple of my Polish rings... He saw the acorn box ring [with real ring in it] and wanted to know about it.. As read above didn't know much about it... He said he was going to Poland very soon after the MAX, and,, he could find out all about it.. Well it stayed in my possession but send many good photos to him.... AND,, he couldn't find anything but had heard the same story I heard.. The bottom plate in the box was supposed to be engraved with a Polish hero / similar and was supposed to be awarded this ring and box. Other than that nothing else except all asked about buying it..
Well, now that I have 2 half Polish grandchildren, I gave this to my son in law again but this time with the box and told him to wear it in good health then pass it down to the boys..
all right guys have a good holiday.............
