- The Beginners Guide to Collecting 3rd Reich Finger Rings:
There is a chance I might be able to finish this by the MAX and hand the manuscript over to the publisher.
I have way over 400 photos, tons of information etc. - Would you guys like a bunch of text explaining every little thing? like the tools a die cutter uses, detailed steps on casting, differences on opaque, flat or mat enamel? ,, OR some text of course, and mainly photos of rings, adverts, and photos in wear with small captions under the photos??
---- * I have a small test the publisher made showing how the project will look like. Its too big for me to post 595KBs.. Maybe I can get the Administrator to post here IF possible.. [ I sent him the tester already ] ....
So what would you guys prefer?? I can make it wordy, complex yet interesting descriptions etc. Nothing wrong with that.. Its up to you guys..... And don't forget. There will be a 2nd volume - The Advanced Guide to Collecting 3rd Reich Finger Rings that will be having plenty of details, rarer rings , machinery etc.
OK, so what say you guys,,,,if you care at all!! [lets hope Vern can post the test!]

Looks great Gaspare. Turn the A/C up and finish it ! I agree with Vern. Cool down and finish it ASAP. Based on the excerpt you shared, I like the current format of the book a lot. I would like to see a balance between descriptive text, with any history or background to the ring, along with clear photos of rings, rings in wear, ads. Maybe more detailed descriptions of construction methods, tools, dies, casting, etc. should go in the Advanced Guide. This will be the first book about TR rings by someone who really knows what he's talking about and it is long overdue. I'm excited to see the final product. Please put me on the waiting list. Stephen p.s. Keep those articles in German coming and I'll translate them for you.

As they say pictures speak a thousand words. Brief history lesson with pictures and brief explanation of the differences. If it's too complicated people get lost.

G,
It's up to you of course but when it comes to Kitsch, Respectfully I would say stay away from it. First off you didn't explain what it is. And a lot of the items we call Kitsch were approved for sell so they are not Kitsch. Not knowing which items were or were not could be a problem. Just my opinion. Any way something to think about. Other wise I like it so far.Good job! Will you show a fake next to an original and explain the difference? Or is that a bit to much.Best!

Dave,,thanks as always for the offer..
- there are chapters on authentics,,,postwar, construction etc. 6 chapters in all..
In 1933 the rings we like to collect were all called kitsch.. I'll be showing the last etc. We have a topic here showing where the Berlin [?] police come in and confiscate ring, cufflinks etc. I'll be showing the SS law saying no more SS rings great quality or a cheapie.... 1933,,thats the end. There was an exception or 2 and I'll be showing that also..
