Possibly maker mark or an indication of the type of workmanship on a non-gold ring.

Mikee, that might be a head profile in a circle.. to the left is - Gold Vlie 5...
Antonio, much thanks. I'm going with that they had some goldtone marks already in rings...... In the law small items like rings you don't have to mark at all... The later in war the less marks seen even content..

had a couple emails.. Both allude to the mark being like the goldtone mark and a Ln mark all in one.. Oh yeah,,,thats the golden fleece hanging there on the lower right!
