Hello dear collectors.
Recently i have found a nicely conditioned etched luftwaffe dagger blade but the rest of the dagger was damaged(aluminium parts were damaged).
I wanted to replace the damaged parts but i was suprised that the blade tang thread was different than in other dagger, it was not metric.
I spoke to Mr. Thomas Wittmann, and i found out that small manufacturers sometimes used different thread.
Is it known which manufacturers used a different thread?

Hello and welcome, Colt.

You may not get a quick answer as it is a subject or question I've not seen before.

I assume that the standard tang is on the left because the one on the right does not look like the various tangs I have seen. It almost looks like a wood screw rather than a machine screw thread.

Could we see the rest of the blades ?

Don't know daggers ,tangs etc, but - There is American coarse, fine and machine.. Also, Metric thread, and British Standard, Whitworth and 'BA'.. Any metal working shop should have thread gages and be able to tell you what you got if no one has seen that before...........

While some manufacturers used different threads, I've not seen a tang thread that wasn't metric.
