Hi, New to the forum. Found this on a reputable UK dealer site. Described as an early Eickhorn SS dagger. Can anyone put my mind at rest. The Swastika on the eagle looks a little deformed? I would appreciate any comments prior to going ahead with a purchase.

Regards

Pat

Hello, Pat,

And Welcome to GDC.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

But the SS roundel looks like it may have been tampered with...

The SS Rune looks like it has been played with. The photo shows me the grip does not fit the upper guard very well.
I would get more and better picks to Dave.

Agree.

I was looking at the eagle.

Better pics may show a replacement grip. It's very shiny and perhaps a poor fit.

What does the rest of it look like ?

Thanks for the replies. Other than the eagle the rest looks OK to my novice eye. The photos on the ad aren’t brilliant and I have emailed asking for better ones. The dealer is away at the moment but says he’ll get them to me as soon as possible. I’ll try to post them not sure how to do that so may have to be a new post.
One thing that struck me today, the makers mark on the blade is a double ring Carl Eickhorn with a squirrel with a serrated tail? Most of the ones I’ve seen have the smooth tail but maybe they were interchangeable?
Anyway, thanks for your help. Hope to post better photos maybe next week.

Regards

Pat
