I've had this thing forever and just ran across it over the weekend figured I take some leather cleaner to it and remove the grime. I do see people listing these at times Does anyone know if there is a way of dating these fobs?

ULLR, Norse God, (guardian), patron saint of winter sports, (skiing) (archery also), medallion. I do not recall having seen an example with a date. There are many pictures online. (No mention of time period I could find).

That eagle style was popular ~ 1050 - 1914 Hello Dave, this is no "popular, general eagle" but THE Tyrolian Eagle (Tiroler Adler) in it´s original, ancient form, used until today. Naturally there are also more modern forms used too. Ullr, the nordic god for hunting, winter and skiing (therefore you see him with skis and a hunting bow) is commonly used at Tyrol (Tirol) as a symbol for winter sports. I cannot read the one or three words before "IM WINTERSPORT" (in winter sports) perhaps BretVanSant can show us a better photograph? I have no proof but only per feeling I would put this amulet around 1900 perhaps later. Regards,

Front again. Looks about 50% better after a good leather treatment.

Ahh, now I can read it although it looks like some letters are missing: "DEIN BESCHÜTZER IM WINTERSPORT" (= your protector/guardian in winter sports). Due to the text, the "look" of ULLR and the timeline when winter sports did start and develop at Tyrol (see internet) I still would assume thet the amulet is from around 1900 maybe up to 1920, 1930.
