Hi Joe, yeah mate it does seem very similar, mines quite small as if it would be for a young person, no stamps or marks on mine and no other identification at all, so it's possible it's genuine as the comments were a bit unknowing, that's my take, Cheers Cambo

Cam,, you should make a small investment on a UV light , or bulb...
It is not a be all end all,,,but it will spot the old fakes that come up every so often..
It will only work on white! So, you have a test standard like a new T shirt,,check that,,,and if the white on the armband [stiching too! ] glows the same its a fake..........

Hi Joe, sorry it's taken a while to reply, it's been hectic, those books you sent me the link too look interesting, it's funny isn't it, books from the 70's still very collectable and being used by collectors to this day even if they maybe a little behind the times I'll be on the lookout for them in the near future to add to my growing collection of reference books I've got, I'm always reading them. Do you think your HJ armband is real ? I'm hopeful that it is otherwise it'll be another rolling eyes moment , I'll keep an eye out for those books, cheers Cambo

Cameron, I believe mine has a chance of being period. I have kept it on faith for over 50 years. (Not that that time span means anything). As to my examples ink stamp ? It could have been added at any time. I can not make out what it says. It has been recently discussed as printed armbands being early 30's production. (1933) or so. My example has been sized down for a smaller arm at one time then the stitching removed. (Also not proof). Does your example look like mine on the inside? Swas. showing a mirror image? Like the attached other printed example? (Other printed example is veteran obtained. Also not fool proof, but encouraging). --dj--Joe I will tack on the H.J. image so you don't have to hunt it up.

The dark ink of the swas. looks ok. I can't tell if the cotton weave of your examples reverse is the same as the obverse. (?).

C, For the obverse and reverse to be the same is a good sign. My eyes can't tell even with your excellent closeups. Attaching a closeup of my examples reverse. Since you have yours in hand and both sides look alike it should have a good chance of being period. (Nothing like a concise "nail it down" answer right)? They are controversial. Perhaps someone else will comment.

Hi Joe, thanks for your answer, I'll take it as 99% genuine Lol 🤣 like you I've had mine for years and it was sold to me as genuine, so I believe it is, hopefully we shall get a definitive answer from someone who knows a lot more about armbands than us, fingers crossed 🤞 Cheers mate, chat again soon Cambo
