Hi Cameron,
These pictures are much better, you are starting to get the hang of it now.
Apart from the ones that we have already mentioned (the DBV, Green Hungarian, Deutshland Erwache etc.) I have concerns about a couple more.
The D.V.G. Westmark with only Redo on the reverse, it is gernerally accepted that those marked like this are post war made (possibly by Redo themselves), original pre 1945 pieces should be W.Redo, with Saarlautern across the bottom.
The Party badge in post #362512 which is totally unmarked is definitely a fake. It should be marked on the reverse & it has the infamous coffin style pin plate which wasn't used during the TR period. If you are unaware of what I mean I will start a thread about it to explain.
I'm not comfortable with the eagle in post #362530. I would expect it to be marked & the head looks odd to me. However I'm not a collector of these eagles so....
Joe might know more about the mini Iron cross & wound badge, again not my area so cannot say whether they are good or bad....
Otherwise all the others look fine. You're building a nice collection there.

Joe,
What are your thoughts on the Type II RLB Amtsträgerabzeichen in post #362495? I believe that you have one by this maker....

Don, here is my Type II RLB Amtsträgerabzeichen. Not sure the images are clear enough for a comparison.

The Westmark badge does have W. REDO but no Saarlautern.
Off to research mini war badges.

Thanks for posting the image Joe, do you still have the pin? If so, how does the mm on yours compare to Cameron’s? It could just be wear or a worn die, but it looks a little rough to me.. My mistake re the W, but it should still have the Saarlautern 😟.

I will have to do a search for the pin. Here are images of my D.V.G. WESTMARK (LOTHR.) badge. If I recall correctly there are different fonts for the reverse also.

As to the comparison between the Type II RLB Amtsträgerabzeichen badges my example under magnification shows similar mashed and raggedly formed letters. Also the wear pattern on both appears to show a copper platting added to the base metal prior to the silver color platting being applied. I apologize, no way at present that I can get a better image of my reverse.

Joe,
Thank you for checking. No need for a better image, your description is enough. I have no experience with this maker on these pieces so just wanted to take the opportunity to check with someone who has one. 👍

Hi Don, yes thank you I agree with you, the photos are coming on nicely now, I have a mini tripod which increases the chances of getting better photos all round, it's very good and I didn't have to delete any of my last batch of photographs so that's a bonus, you are at it again, with the dodgy pins etc, so to be fair when I took the pics of the party badge with no markings, I knew it was a dodgy pin, from the off so that's not a surprise to me. Some people keep mentioning coffin pin catches, so i don't really know what that means to be fair, and you said Don that you could start a thread up about them, thank you that would be great, and I look forwards to reading about them. The RLB stickpin from what Joe is saying is, he believes it to be genuine, or am i barking up the wrong tree here? the eagle in post #362530 is probably dodgy as well, I wasn't expecting that, I've since been looking at other examples and now know what to look out for, so that'll need replacing too, the Hungarian one, the DE stickpin, the party badge all came together in a box of bits I bought from, you guessed it an Auction site so that was then this is now.... thanks to everyone for their contributions its well received, Cheers Cambo

Those should keep you reading for quite awhile. As far as I know the RLB type II Amtsträgerabzeichen (eagle pin) is a period piece.

--dj--Joe Yes Cameron, nothing wrong with it. I just wanted to check with Joe as I knew that he had one by that maker. D

Hi Joe, thanks mate, yeah there's a bit of reading to be done, I didn't realise how many books I'd collected over the last year or two, I'm glad that my RLB eagle passes muster I'd have been really chessed off it it was another copy, I'm at work at the minute so shouldn't really be on my phone Lol, have a great day whatever you are doing, Cambo
