Hi DJ Joe Yes it's the same Medal , are you saying that you think it's an ok example? I never knew older materials will light up like this under black light , thanks for the comment Cheers Cameron

Hi Cameron. The ribbon is possibly a post war addition. Some synthetics were in use during the period and some dyes will fluoresce. I have a shooting award ribbon with a pinkish red stripe that lights up. Also if a period item was laundered with modern brightening detergents it will react. Have you heard of the burn test? (To be used with caution).
Can you post closeups of your medal?

Hi dj Joe, thanks for the information you gave, I've had similar comments from another forum site about the ribbon, it seems a lot of the Carl Poellath packages either have no ribbon or are sold with reproduction ribbons, but it seems the medal and packet of issue are genuine So that's a bonus, I'm now looking to replace it with a genuine one in the near future, you are the only one who's suggested that some ribbons do light up under black light, so thanks for that little nugget of information, Cheers Cameron

As far as I know the medal and packet are period. There are two different spellings on the printed packet maker mark. Both accepted collectively as period. Schrobenhansen/Schrobenhausen.
Good luck with your search.

Hi djJoe, thanks for all your help, you are correct about what you said about the spellings etc I've been told that on other forums etc which is funny you'd have thought that they could spell the last name correctly Lol, probably because paper was in short supply, I'll find a ribbon soon , I've seen loads in the past I just can't remember where. Cheers Cameron
