Nice rings. I like aside the rings the "steps style" of the forties.

Saw this old post and thought I would add my party ring too. There are several variants of these swastika rings. If you're interested to see more like this, check out the Patriotic Finger Ring thread pinned at the top of the forum here.

Stephen, thanks for showing this Artdéco ring. I presume the band is made separatly from the front part . The base material is brass silver washed ?

Hi Benten,
Good questions, thanks. Yes, the ring is brass and once had a silver wash. The only traces remaining are on the rear of the cartouche and slight hints of silver colour on the side 'steps'.

I hadn't noticed before but the ring is, indeed, a two-piece; the ends of the band are well-soldered onto the sides of cartouche. The jeweller did a good job. I had to look carefully with a 10x magnifier in order to see the joins. My photography skills aren't good enough to show this.

This picture is a good. One should not expect an raised swastica on the rear. The outsite parts of the front, with the " teeth"......on the rear don't have that raised.
The 2 dots near the swatica could be production marks....

Those two dots are just marks on what's left of the silver wash. The lighting makes them look more pronounced than they are. Since the cartouche design was probably stamped and since the swastika on the front is recessed, I would expect the swastika on the rear to be proud.

some dies have a support block,, some the mirror image, some just a piece of leather..

This pattern a simple one-piece stamp and band.. Light silver wash that probably came off almost immediately! grin I have never seen a mint in box or just mint ring of this pattern....

A good known pattern and early patriotic ring.. Inexpensive, and popular at the time.... Stephen,,thats a nice one!

Thanks Gaspare. I had closer look at the other rings in this thread. Judging by the scratch marks on the face, I think my ring is the same ring that was posted on 22.06.2008 by Ring Man. Shows that there aren't as many rings out there as some people believe. Ring Man hasn't posted anything here since 2013.

they're basically all the same pattern.. Mine has the bottom adornment folded over. I've since folded it back out and its the same pattern..

Ringman was a great guy.. I think he occasionally has a look in here.... He had to stop and liquidate his collection due to personal reasons...

Yes, but my point is that my ring and Ringman's ring are one and the same. Look at the scratches on his ring (left) and mine (right). They're identical. Since he liquidated his collection, one of his swastika rings ended up with me smile
