This appeared on the German forum. One said its maybe a werewolf ring! almost thought its period..
I was very gentil with them.. Yes, believe it or not this technique was tried pre war but quickly they knew it wasn't the way. This design pattern though is for a children's ring.. So yes you might find an old one but don't think its going to have this design pattern on the cartouche. Also,,, the exact manufacture method was used again here in the US and probably other places and 'gumball rings and children's rings. I once posted a NOS card with kids rings on it and it has the same method on all of them. [topic might still be here somewhere]..
So yes this is an old ring.. Hey,,maybe its from the 30s,, but more than likely postwar,,, 50s to 70s

Here is a book I recommend. It doesn't have military rings. But does have skulls, and swastika ring, superhero rings etc. Its inexpensive and fun to have a look at....
It also shows some various manufacture methods. I'm pretty sure it has rings that are manufactured like this..
Also here's a NOS card of kiddie rings! I still have this somewhere and not sure rings manufacture like this.. [ think they are all pressed! ] But have seen plenty of 'gumball' / ice cream rings that were made like the ring above...

Betty Crocker produced skull rings? Who would have believed that? 😅
What's the ring in the top post made of, Gaspare, and how was it made? Looks like two pieces. Stephen

Gaspare, thanks for posting these nostalgic rings with a wink I like them. In the 50ties my brother and I we were kids.... in our village, at the local fair,....we got a cheap plastic skullring with glass eyes . I was proud to have it, but I lost mine in the course of time........ Years later, collecting real German skullrings , I missed this first skullring very much. For many years never seen one.... Luckily I found this ring on the fleamarket some time ago....here it is.

Cool ring, Benten. But I'm pretty sure that I see a couple of casting flaws..... 😜

Benten - LOL! Is it a known pattern from the period? Is there a plastic content or maker mark?
