I'm happy to help you learn more about your 1940s Luftwaffe helmet. Based on your description, it seems to have some unique characteristics that collectors might be interested in. Here are some resources that could be helpful in your research:

Online forums and communities:
Military helmet collecting forums like Wehrmacht Awards, German Militaria Collecting Forum, or Steel Magnolias
Luftwaffe-specific forums like Luftwaffe Expertengruppe
Reference books:
"German Helmets of World War II" by William Shea
"Luftwaffe Field Equipment" by Andrew Mollo
"Collecting German Helmets" by Adrian R. Pataki
Additional information that would be helpful for identification:

Photos: Close-up pictures of the helmet from different angles, including the decal, liner, and any markings on the shell.
Measurements: The exact circumference of the shell and the distance between the liner rivets.

tie string is wrong, the liner looks like a reproduction from the pics. go to nazi stuff in the attic on you tube and look at his helmet videos. you'll see correct liners and strings. For sure the string is incorrect. Just my two cents.

Post war liner.
All info welcome cool.
Referring to the Helmet number was it originally a single decal?
Thanks Dutchman.
