Yes, it is very sad. Two weeks till the greatest show on earth and nothing.
It has gotten way too expensive for me. I miss the show, and the gun show even more.

It would be nice to meet a few people in person but the reality for me is I have little interest in attending such a show anymore. My plate is plenty full on a local level. My daughter and I went back to setting up in this area and with the amount of stuff coming out of collections now I find it's better than it was 20 years ago. My health is a issue so staying close to U of M is now a larger consideration.Still nice to run into people at our March show who give us the low down on SOS. Besides if I wanna see Robin Hansen I can just watch him on You Tube now. I don't need to avoid him at a local showπŸ˜›πŸ˜›πŸ˜›πŸ˜›πŸ˜›πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

I miss the SOS a bit.. IS anyone here else going??

With the MAX getting bigger every year and it being only a 3 hr drive thats been my only big show..

And yes ,,sadly with the old time collectors and us baby boomers passing there is some 'new old stuff' showing up at the big shows....

Hey,,, what have you guys been doing with all your old ref books?? Andy left a gigantic room full of books,,1000s of Ref books, history books antique books etc. The family doesn't know what to do with them.. I had lost a lot in the 2 floods,,,but still have a couple hundred really good books... The book dealers at the show really don't seem to want them.

Hello Gaspare
I had stopped collecting a few years a go and had sold my reference books prior to that. While collecting and prior to the internet, they appreciated. What I see (my opinion only) is that young collectors today have instant access to the internet and pictures for evaluations. All they do now is post a pic of it and can get there answer in an instant. Books have always been interesting to me but not so much of todays collector. When I was collecting, I thought paying 50.00 for a book was not a wise investment UNTIL I got burnt and then from then on, they were worth it. Take care, Ron
