Hello wotan ,

since I am able to insert views I can reply (with delay sorry ) to your question .

Emailled badges like this one are nice and may be included in Hirschfangers collection .

Thanks & best regards from JL+

Hello Seppi, what you do show us is a very special badge of the DJ. It is a function badge for spezialized hunters to hunt wild animals with mange. Personally I am not into badges so I cannot judge if it is a contemporary made badge but for me it looks legit. Can you show th reverse too?
Regards,

Hello Seppi, I spoke to a specialist for badges and showed the pic to him: The badge (as far as somebody can tell from pics) seems to be 100% original, up to now there are no fakes known. On the reverse there should be the makermark. The badge is very rare.

Hello Seppi,

The second badge is one of the few fakes in the Forestry and Hunting badges. It is known as the crooked-nose stag. Compare the head to the other one on the first badge and it will be easy to see the difference. I am seeing alot of these crooked nose stag emblems showing up on things like sterling silver plates and cups, and odd-shaped horns. I'm told they are coming from Eastern Europe.

Wotan is correct in that the Ruude badge is original.

There is another fake "Game Warden" badge that circulates having badge number "9197" and many times has a wool backing. Avoid that one too.

Hi Joe and sorry but I cannot show the reverse of this badge because I do not own it now but search it hardly but without result until now .

Only a wreck unit was sold one year ago in Germany but the condition was a pity 🤢

Have a nice day = JL+
