Bottom left has the description of Joes Salver,,,a real hoard find and would be a star in anyone's collection.. Glad Joe got it........

Gaspare, I think you have it backwards? The gold plated engraved Menz was donated to the West Point Museum by Bily if I am not mistaken. Bill Blynn had some magnificent engraved presentation pistols that I suppose were sold to raise funds for the balane of the Bily collection. Many were featured in firearms magazines with full articles by him. Here is one that was later sold on RIA.

It was the September 1982 iissue of Penthouse. Then, as Gaspare related above, Tom Johnson featured the Hitler Hoard in his Volume II soft cover edition of GI bring back items. I had forgotten the amazing things pictured in Tom's book. But he indicates that the small gold engraved Menz was presented to the West Point Museum and is still on display.

Bill Blynn wrote the articles in the "Guns" magazines. The other pistol he had was a magnificent engraved gold plated Menz PB Spezial with initials RH, which was associated with either Rudolf Hess or Reinhard Heydrich. The gun was in bad shape and he had it restored.

Well I guess the sword didn't survive.. OR,, its in a bottom of a case in one of the former Soviet Republics.. Each has/had a Great Patriotic War Museum.. The one in Kiev is stunning! Tons of stuff all over the place. We even found steamer trunks of never seen holocaust photos in one of the back rooms!

Joe,, Bill was a 'unique' guy. He had so many stories about his pistoles etc. I understood wrong..
Only pistol he had saved was some kind of cowboy type pistol like a #5 off the line with a book of supporting documents about it..

I made the trip to Bills 3 times. After my last trip we kept in touch but within a couple years his bad health caught up with him.. His daughter called when he passed about if I had photos of his items. For over 30 years they never spoke to him now he was their dear Father.. All I know is they got ripped off in a auction. Their auction total I could have got them just for the ring!!!

Bil had some weird hiding places for some of his treasures.. I do know they could not find many items and they were lost.. In the community forum I had a topic about 'ethics' it was about the 'Napoleon Sword' we called it. It went for pretty cheap but it was an illegal sale. The sword was stolen from a French museum by Goring.. Legally it belonged to France. At the time France was too busy to follow up on it...
