Would anyone care to take a stab at what this medal was for and what the abbreviations mean?

--dj--Joe

I have done some research.H.B. could be Handball Bund. or Hockey Bund. KL. is probably Klasse (class). Sp. Spiel (sport)? V. Verein, Vereinigung, (club)?
Stah 39 (location and date)?
I have read that Stahe is a city in Nordhein-westfalen. (North Rhine-Westphalia).
I've probably omitted a couple of thoughts. Thought this might be of interest.

Hey Joe,

My first thought was it's a shooting medal or maybe a Carnival medal. I'm sure you thought this already as well. I'm not to sure now lol.

Found this: "Sportvereine - Stahe Niederbusch Hohenbusch - Golddorf 2017" … Maybe a soccer club?

Whatever it is, it's an attractive piece.

Thanks for all the thoughts so far. smile

Update. Stahe, is a subdivision of a Municipality with postal code 52538. Admin. region Köln. Searching for it on a map. (Now if that is the Stahe the medal is in reference of).

I located Stahe on a map. Now I know where it is located. smile Still not sure how long it has been in existence nor if it is indeed the Stah referenced on the medal.
Also no clue as to the 39.

I guess if 39 is not in reference to 1939 then it could be Straße (street) 39.

It was also suggested that H.B. stood for Herren Burschenschaften - Gentelemans Students Fraternity. (?)
Or would that be Burschenschaft ?
