Looking at a F A Bower Imp Co Bowie knife. It is marked and has a 68 on one tang and F A Bower on the other, Solingen. Blade 8" marked BOWIE. Leather sheath. Stag Grips. Anyone know what year or range this knife is from, and the value, condition is good with some small blade chips. Sorry, but I can not do pictures. Ed

From the 1998 edition of "GOINS' Encyclopedia of Cutlery markings", page 31: F. A. BOWER, IMP. CO. GERMANY g 1950-1980 (they list 4 markings).
As for value, search "F. A. BOWER, German knife" on "eBan" (eBay) and click on the box marked "Sold" on the left side of the page for recent sales.

On 3 Oct. 2023 a very nice example of a probably? 1950's F. A. Bower # 68 Hunting knife sold for $183.50 USD on the popular auction site. This knife has the probably 1950's? fancy German style sheath with green leather fringe and reinforced leather bottom. The knife & sheath in beautiful condition, with stag handle secured with 4 pins and a nickel-silver bar shield on the stag.
Another F. A. Bower # 68 Hunting knife in used condition with a plain sheath sold for $100.00 USD on 2 Oct. 2023.
Now there is a mint condition F. A. Bower # 68 Hunting knife with embossed stag on plain sheath listed for $280.00 USD or best offer.
I would want the example with the probably, 1950's German style sheath, if I were in the market for such a knife.
