Gentlemen, I just acquired that Fliegermesser, which raises some question marks. beside the stamping on the scabbard it doesn’t have any marks. The swasis have obviously been tempered with in a very unprofessional manner.
Since that’s my first Fliegermesser I would appreciate any educated views to mitigate or support my concerns.

The overall condition looks bad. Lots of scarring on the fittings and crossguard, the leather looks too blue for the rest of the dagger. Looks like the scabbard throat has been ground on. The whole dagger has a very odd look in my opinion. Ed

Yeah agree that’s why I posted it. Yet I’m not clear yet whether it’s a badly assembled parts dagger or simply a copy. Since I didn’t own one yet for comparison I’m just scratching my head over it.
