Gentlemen, I have been offered this interesting piece and would appreciate your views. On the one hand parts seem genuine on the other hand it raises a few question marks. Any input welcome !

Could we see closer, better photos of the dagger and the inscription ? and the scabbard ?
So far, it looks ok.

Sorry, Dave that were the best pictures I could obtain and it comes without a scabbard.

I am not good at the German blade inscriptions so I will leave that to others. Without better pictures I cannot add much.

Might very well be. The way that’s written just doesn’t look right to me. I checked and interestingly enough there really was a guy of that name in charge of the mentioned unit although in the information I found his name is written with one L at the end and not with two like on the blade. It’s a pity as otherwise the piece seems to look fine….

Agree. The dagger looked good from the limited photos. But with no scabbard and maybe a bad inscription ... time to move on ?
