I"m so sorry to hear this. Although I did not know Bill personally he did help me with an item I had and contacted me afterwards and offered me another item like it to add to my collection. From the few times I was in touch with him he couldn't have been a nicer or more helpful person. I an truly sorry to hear of his passing and my thoughts go out to his family.

So sorry to hear about Bill Warda, he reached out to me on 01/04/2023:

Hello,

I saw your post on the Schutzen Verein and was wondering if you'd be interested in some very nice imperial and TR awards? I've collected these for quite a while and have some first-class examples for sale since I'm about to leave the hobby. Since you live in Delaware I thought it would be easy to get together should you be interested. Please let me know when you get a chance. Thanks!

Bill Warda
Media, PA

I declined to meet with Bill at that time and was recently thinking about him.

It seems I’m the last one to find things out again. I’m very saddened to learn of Willi’s death. Willi was very instrumental in helping me early on in my collecting.

He was funny, insightful, very well-read and always willing to help a fellow collector. Essentially everything I love to see in a fellow collector. Although we haven’t spoken much in recent years, just knowing he’s not back in PA makes me quite sad indeed. Rest in peace my friend.

What a kind and giving soul. He could find beauty regardless of price tag value and had thought provoking perspective. Always with a nice word to say.
I'll miss his appreciation for art.

I visited him at his home 1 month prior of his passing and is always a pleasure just to listen to him speak ..as his knowledge was above on the Edged weapons topic.

He had a man cave on the 2nd floor of his home..quite quaint being an A frame style house.
He told me...any book you see in my library here in this room...take what you wish and we will make a deal. Glad to own some of his reference material.

Dean Perdue above said it best about Bill : What a kind and giving soul. He could find beauty regardless of price tag value and had thought provoking perspective. Always with a nice word to say.

I had him autograph Tom Wittmanns SS Edged Weapons reference as well.
Bill was one of many cornerstones in Hobby and History and will be sorely missed.

Regards Larry
