The first Schlageter cross:
In 1923, 26 Mai, after Schlageter‘s execution by the French military court. On the Golzheimer Heide (Düsseldorf-north) there was a simple cross of birch trunks ( see foto; an excavation full of water.) However, how poorly it was, it became a memorial and cult place immediately.
For many people Schlageter was a German national hero.

The second Schlageter cross:
In 1931 a monument with this large cross was built on a huge property, where the nazis gathered for their frequently political death cult.
