I found the 1932 regulations and thought this might be useful. Currently in test mode........

To what unit can this bayonet of the Weimer Republic be attributed? L.M.240.The bayonet is long, not shortened. The blade length is 17 inches.

Vic
I'm sure you will get a answer soon, but that bayonet looks to be a beauty.
Hope you show the rest of it.

The bayonet itself is nice but the grip emblem is not original. Originally the grip would have had a six sided Weimar star with eagle but this is not what police bayonets of the time had. It resembles a Garde du Korps emblem, possibly from a sword.

Suum cuique serves as the motto of the Order of the Black Eagle (German: Hoher Orden vom Schwarzen Adler; founded in 1701), the highest order of chivalry of the Kingdom of Prussia. The motto continues in use in Germany – in the insignia of the military police (the Feldjäger).

But Vern, this emblem is clearly not a Feldjager emblem nor is it a Weimar star police emblem. Whatever it is, it’s not a police emblem originally on this bayonet. That much I’m sure of.

I believe it is just the emblem of the order.

The frog is strange short stitching in middle is not known on police frogs, same as this frog when real is 1918 date, in that time didnt existed police SG of this type, the bayonet itself is very nice, in the unreworked condition, from this is there real that someone from Guard units added there the guard star on weimar era police bayonet when went out of service. Its a police proof on spine of blade? the shortage in late 30ies was not realised, as mostly the owner was not in service already.
