On this tinnie is a picture of his home village Schönau in the Schwarzwald, souht-west of Germany 1933. There was this large monument , with sight over Schönau ( see tinnie) and there was his grave in the village. In Germany, are/were many memorials of him. The Nazis had their big meeting here with thousants of people, in memory of Schlageter who was executed by the French May 1933. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Leo_SchlageterJoe, if this item is not on the right place here, please, would you replace it . Thanks in advance.

A very interesting & informative thread, thank you. The cake looks delicious!!! I assume that the Schlageter memorial is no longer there?

Don, Mikee thank you for your kind reply.
I found a photo of what is left over of this monument....... Backside: the steps right and left and basement with a bit of the obelisk.

The Nazis demolished this beautiful monument themselves! in 1937, with the intention to rebuilt a larger “Schlageter Helden Grab” (Hero Grave) on the same place. They started a new circle shaped basement, but...... they never built this Helden Grab monument: it was left unfinished as a ruin, as you can see on the recent photo here above, the "new" round basement.
