While I understand the Angolia reference is incomplete. This looks to have elements from unattributed leopard head and dove head both. But where the brads hold the celluloid over wood grip looks a bit like a EF Horster Nr 24 but the pattern is very different surrounding the area the brad goes. the round flower shape where the brad gets pinned through. I picked this up as it was very strange. Not crazy expensive. The grip does have a crack in the celluloid. I'm still running through books as I have the time. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. Or knows if Herder farmed out somethings? It's a nice piece scabbard is 98%paint blade is clean a smudge or two but very nice.

It does also has a very close look to a Krebs No. 3 alot also but the Swaz is fatter and more defined. But the Angolia book does not have the best photos either. Also nothing is wobbly or loose (which means little) . My photos ain't the best also!

That is a very nice and interesting Herder dove head, Brent!

I agree that Herder swords are great collectibles, but unfortunately, they are tough to find... as many collectors seem to like their unusual features.

Here is a lion head that I did not find in the Angolia sword book, notice the Herder silver eagle.

Best regards,

Herman
