Going thru some old files I found this in a ''Mystery' folder.... Odal and I had been discussing the ring back and forth for a week or so.. Really,,,we couldn't find anything really wrong with it. No obvious faults. There were more photos showing a smooth inner and a seam,,thin band..

The markings seem to make it maybe of Italian maker? but then theres a 800 content stamp not the way Italian rings were done.. More than likely a fantasy ring for some reason we both liked it and hoped it authentic..

ok some photos:

DF in 41 was on its way to the Russian Front from France I think [please correct me if mistaken]... Why would they need a ring?..

So the details and band design are classic for the period. Well made but inside didn't look so hot.... A few more photos..

- One of you members sent us these photos to look at? Did you buy the ring? Do you still have the ring?

,, Odal and I both thought the ring very interesting.. As much as I like it its more fantasy than anything else.. Too bad,,would be one cool ass ring!

Can anyone read the bottom name maker mark? Is it upside down? It looks very familiar to me. Thank you.

I see, Firence, when translated it comes up as Florence (city in Tuscany, Italy).

Never seen anything like it. It looks like a fantasy piece to me, too, albeit it’s a pretty cool ring. Better quality than 90% of other fantasy rings. I wonder how old it is, and where it came from. Thanks for posting G

Indeed a nice ring with quality, but I don’t know if the ring is authentique.
We have to deal with only these pics.

What doesn’t make it easier is …… WW2 Italian made rings are different from the German made rings.
The front has a more German design, with the helmet, initials, runes and date, the ring sides more Italian, with a kind of engraved (?) palm leaves .
Thanks for posting .

yes it is Firence and Vincenti.... and a 800 in a oval in the band...

The outside looks nice,,the inner didn't look so nice..

As we all seem to agree on,,,we wish it was real,,looks cool,, but more probable a 4th reich piece..
- Never have seen another as a fake, ground dug, advertisement, on reproduction site.... Sent to me long time ago when Odal was still alive. Someone sent to him I think and he was asking me about it. We couldn't agree on it and think the end result was we'd both take it if it was $100. or less. I am not sure if it was bought by a member or where it ended up....
- There are members here from other countries that only check in a couple times a month so, maybe they'll see it and will post!
