Hi - I just joined this forum as I am taking an interest in Nazi era military daggers. (I've done the Nazi Military Lugers and have always liked to look at the Nazi daggers at gun shows but I didn't have any idea whether they were real or fake and what they were worth if they were real, so I stayed away from them, but I am getting the itch!) I've done some research looking at Thom Wittman's You tube videos and reading a few blurbs on the internet. Then I found this forum from Thom's links from his website.

Anyway, i am looking to purchase an FW Holler Heer dagger. They have one on Gun Broker ( 942464658 ) that looks in pretty good condition and looks to be authentic. I compared it to an FW Holler Heer dagger for sale on Thom's website and it looks pretty much the same. I am hoping some one that is more knowledgeable than me can take a look and give me your opinions as to whether it is 100% authentic or not. The price seems reasonable - most of the well known militaria shops want $900-$1100 for a Heer dagger in this condition. It doesn't have all of the gingerbread with it (pommel knot, hangers, etc. which just get in the way for my taste), so I'm sure that plays into the price.

If you have time, please take a look and give me your $0.02 on it. Many thanks, El Syd

You could try the Wanted section right here on this site.
Could be a member would be willing to sell you one of there Holler Heer's to get you started in the hobby.
Worth a try at least.

Ed - not many items for sale in the WTS section. There was one Heer dagger. I ended up buying it from Hermann as I loved the two toned grip! Thanks for your help, ElSyd

Not many For Sale.
But there is a WANTED to Buy section.
You never know if you don't ask.
