Hello guys well it was eventually going to happen in 40 years I purchased a Robert Klaas naval dirk from DG.De historica in Berlin plain blade $1028 Euro I don't usually deal with off shore dealers unless I know them. DG.De historica has favorable reviews posted and a decent reputation. Dirk has major issues.......reworked pommel, reworked handle, reworked scabbard issue after issue apparent in hand as soon as removed from package pictures online only showed two leather washers as "concerning" I emailed Mr. Arthur Muller as soon as dirk arrived. I offered to supply pictures, I detailed all of my concerns... I offered to post images for opinions, send pics to Kai Winkler, Helmut Weitze, Herman Historica, Paul Hogle, Bill Shea etc........ zero reply three days later He has a 14 day return policy which states "tem must be received by them within 14 days" it took 5 weeks to arrive to me even with expedited shipping I won't make 14 days I propsed a partial refund and then a full refund I can email pics for anyone to post suggestions????? cheers and best, Ryan

I would post photos with details about the transaction on every web site I could find and notify this seller each time you post the dagger so he knows his reputation will suffer. We have done that here on GDC and got the offending seller to make good.

Very disappointing to hear this Ryan. I’ve also been a victim of the same story, pics look fine but in-hand it’s obviously been messed with. Did you get your refund back?

Hello still no refund dagger was returned, as per sender's instructins as returned merchandise. The dagger has been with German Customs since June 8th.....over a month. Delivery was supposed to have occured on June 15th. I have no idea why the dirk has been "detained" this has been a nightmare transactioin. My substantial refund remains in limbo. regards, Ryan

Sorry to hear that. On the other hand as long as you paid just for the shipping its a win (in battle which shouldnt occur in first place).
Many dealers did some wrongdoing in last few months. My personal experience was with Johnson. The problem is all those dealers have from time to time really good pieces we all want but you can never trust them since they are the ones making bucks of it and since dealers honor is fading. And since the incident with SS visor at Raptured duck Im very cautious about terms of refund ...

Parts dagger which I didnt spot on pictures but the most breathtaking moment was the fact that scabbard didnt fit. LW second model - crossguard swaz was hitting hard into top band. Never crossed my mind that this might happend with dealer with such a name. Also the scabbard didnt look right to me. Was offered refund. But since Im in Europe I was still upset. Had different issue with another LW second model with different dealer (dont want to mention a name because otherwise I had multiple more than good transactions with him). The ricasso of dagger was covered in yellow vaseline (also under the crossguard and part of the grip) god knows where it was stored before. The dagger was sold as SMF (with SMF scabbard and pommel) but after cleaning the vaseline it turned out that blade was Eickhorn What can I say I had some luck with LW2 daggers. It helped me learn more about them and I was lucky in dealing with refunds. It's just unexpected and disappointing to have this experience with big name dealers.
Regards Mike
