Hello, does this dagger has any chance to be an original one?
The maker of the blade is WMW Waffen.
Thank you for your opinions...

The knot is a thick corded repro I believe. The hangers stand a chance however.
The pommel and ferrule show the correct acanthus leaves but detail is not crisp. The same can be said for the crossguard but between the soft detail and poor pics, tough to say.
I have seen Max Weyersberg Land Customs daggers before and I believe they may have made them but Army blades are sometimes swapped. Better pictures might help.

So I tried to make some more pictures. The pommel is very heavy in my opinion...
Maybe this helps. Thank you.

Hello maron, I am not totally clear about the dagger (although I tend to think it is a fake piece) but hangers (wrong hardware) and portepee (totally wrong configuration) are for sure fakes. Please can you show the reverse of the scabbard and (without disassambling!) a sight inside the crossguard (blade sit, leather washer)? Regards,

Hello, the grooves on the reverse of the scabbard fittings are normally a bad sign. Only very few (one or two) firms did do that during the period and to my best kowledge WMW is not one of them. The crossguard looks to me, only from these pics, like a cast brass one (see the green gunk between crossguard and leather washer; color of the finish of the crossguard), silvered which would not be proper for period manufactured land custom daggers. Just from these pics (it would be much more easy to judge the piece in hand) I also tend to think it is a total fake. Regards,

I agree, the better pics tell the tale. A bad dagger rig all around.
