Can anyone give me a ballpark value for a painted WWII A2 flight jacket in a pretty well deteriorated condition ( meaning the leather is really dry and cracked up and the liner is in bad shape)? The only good points is that it is from the 8th AAF and the paint is clearly distinguishable.

8th AAF ones are still the king of the A-2s. Some of value would depend on the what is actually painted, it it has the plane name, how famous the plane was, bomb missions, if its named, and what squadron it was from. But generally, even a pretty rough one with decent paint would be worth at least $300-600 IMO.

I agree with Jerry. really depends on the artwork, names ,ect.
These can be suggestive in pricing too, even over little things.
most of the "good ones" are in collections in Japan.
photos here would help...........

Thanks for the replies gents. I don't have pics, so we'll see what happens. If I get it, I'll be sure to take some and post them.

If you are purchasing old a2 jacket it will cost more if you want new a2 jacket, a2 jacket is specially made by us air force with some creative nose art created by pilot of fight jets, so if you want original nose art jacket belongs to the pilot it will cost in millions because this jacket is very valuable

Tex,

I will, but I've found they are "one and they're done" types.
