Sorry the naive question, but I was looking at this sword for sale today. It appears to have a bend at the handle. You can see it in this photo. I've seen them like that before. Fairly easy to disassemble the grip and straighten the tang

I've seen them like that before. Fairly easy to disassemble the grip and straighten the tang Thanks. I know the photo doesn't show much. But any idea what kind of sword this is? Surfing the net, it looked like a police or NCO SS degan, but there wasn't any police eagle on the grip or "SS" on the pommel. Did Krebs maybe make these post war?

Looks Police to me, but I am not a great source.
Any marks on grip where a Eagle would have been?
Looks like a easy fix, the bend.

I believe these are enlisted SS swords for a junior NCO or candidate. They are real and wartime. Just like the officer versions with-out runes buttons some have wire and some don't.
