You don't see many photos like this!

Picture caption says: 'HJ Leader, Baldur von Schirach presents Gerhart Hauptmann with an honor ring. Breslau'.

Some questions,,,, BvS was onetime HJ leader.. Why is he presenting this ring to this guy Hauptmann ,,,for what occasion?

Bigger question is,,,what ring is that?!?! It's not the 'HJ Leaders ring' we're used to seeing..

The ring could be a special made ring from the Nazis to Hauptmann .

In 1942, Hauptmann had an exposition of his work as a writer in Vienna. There is a picture form him with Baldur von Schirach there. See link below.

Gaspare, maybe it was at this place Hautmann got the ring as sign of appreciation for his work as a writer......?

There are many types of Honor Rings, not just SS Honor Rings. This is more then likely an Honor Ring for literature. Best!
