Hi all,

With the release of Antonio's Totenkopfring book, and the large buzz about TK rings, I thought I would create this thread for people on the GDC to post their Totenkopfrings. I have done something similar on the WAF, and now would like to create a thread here for GDC members to share. So everyone on this website please feel free to post your Totenkopfrings, and information you have on the former owners. I will take the lead and post mine. I look forward to seeing all of yours! And I always look forward to seeing Ron's (AKA Tanker's) ring!

My ring has been poste here before, it is a 1934 ring named to SS Standartenfuhrer Walter Jurk, the man in charge of all building projects in the Protectorate of Bohemia / Moravia, as well in charge of the confiscation and distribution of Jewish valuables and property. He was a very early member and prominent member of the SS, SA and NSDAP and was an SS spy in the SA in the time leading up to and following the Night of Long Knives. The photo of him I post here was taken in Prague Castle in 1943, in the photo is SS Oberstgruppenfuhrer Kurt Daluege (who was the best friend of Jurk, and was best man at his wedding), SS Gruppenfuhrer Heinz Reinefarth, and Walter Jurk, on the right side of Reinefarth. Originally nothing was known about Jurks fate at the end of the war, other than he was taken prisoner by the Americans, and then disappeared into thin air. However, recently more information has come to light and I now believe that it is likely he was recruited by American Intelligence (OSS and later CIA) and given a new identity and was part of the founding of the Gehlen Organization.

Best regards,
Sarcasmos

Sarcasmos,,, yeah thats a beauty of a HR! ,,, Rons of course too! [ I really prefer the 1st pattern HRs..]

You know way back when this was called 'The Don Boyle Honor Ring Forum' for a short while Don of course wanted collectors to post photos of their HR,,, but many times he'd suggest not showing the name! Why? I don't remember but it didn't make sense what ever the reason was.... So, many old timers wouldn't show the name unless there was a real problem with the rest of the engraving... When I joined back then I suggested the complete opposite for many reasons...

Anyway,,, there are still some who won't show the name. I know a few collectors that don't even like to show or even say they own a HR!! Again Why?!? maybe for security reasons [?],,,who knows confused

- Without using names we have a long time member here who didn't want to show the name,, goes way to back to the Don days.. He's a good guy with a fantastic HR. He was worried at first that if he showed the name it would be in danger of getting copied! I explained my position about it,,,that IF anything it would deter the ring getting copied! Once you showed it they the counterfeiters couldn't use that name,,,,It was the way to go.. Soon guys like John Peppera who had a bunch of HRs and started showing names and others followed suit..

You still might not get a lot of names as over the years the forum moved more towards PP rings.. Also,,pinned at the top there are a a couple topics that show the names in the HR. They are from the late great John Peppera. * You are more than welcomed to copy the photos with names and re post them here...

- SO,,OK you closet collecting HR guys! put those names up here if you'd like..
