Hello Collectors and thank you for taking the time to review this item and provide your valued feedback. I appreciate your time and expertise.

I have been looking for a nice authentic Honor ring for a while. As we all know finding a real ring is a challenge. I saw that Oakleaf Militaria has a couple listed. I tried to call and sent them an email to see if they still have these but no response. Does anyone know if they are still in business? As for the rings... any opinion on the authenticity of these rings?

Thank you for your time and opinions. It is appreciated! Also, If anyone knows of a ring for sale please let me know.

Thanks!!

Steve308,, welcome to the forum.. Some look fine..

1st off have you studied a little about them? Know the difference between the early pattern and 2nd type. Noticed what they call the 'die flaw' , the seam behind the skull... What are the proper dates...

We have a few topics pinned at the top with some outstanding HRs to look at /study... - Your best bet is to hit a big show. There is usually a HR there or 3.. Some dealers will actually let you handle them..

Knowledge is everything.... Learn / read as much as you can before you buy.. Do you have a budget on which you can spend for one? or do you have a unlimited budget.. Does it matter if your ring the man can be found on the list? Does it matter if he was a paper pusher? or do you want a combat man,,infamous personality?

All I can tell you is to be patient.. Plan out what you are exactly looking for...... Take your time,,know what you want then go for it...

The rings on oakleaf militaria are good ones IMO, Wagner one is great condition however it is impossible to research the owner. The ring on Lakesidetrader is a good one as well, but I think price is way to high for a ring that condition.

I am not familiar with now to research ring owners or any named items. What makes you say that this Wagner ring owner is not researchable? Would this fact question its authenticity?

I appreciate the education and help on this!!!

It does not question the authenticity, the reason it will be impossible to research is because there are dozens of SS Officers with the surname Wagner, and when you only have the last name on the ring, it will be impossible to narrow down which Wagner it was to just one. The method by which the owner of a ring can be determined is by using the Dienstalterliste der SS, which lists all officers of the SS higher than rank of Untersturmfuhrer (2nd Lt. ) You can use this website which has a few editions of the Dienstalterliste.

Hello, I have no horse in the race but imho the ring at lakesidetrader is not too expensive even when the outside is heavily worn. It is an early (34) ring and the inscription is full and clear. The ring is attributable which is a big plus contrary to any with a mass name. There are also some documents with the ring. When looking which prices are now demanded and gained for honor rings IF any ring is available I have the feeling that lakesidetrader (Paul) is on the cheaper side. Just my personal point of view, regards,
